The marketing agency NAPI has updated the new car market forecast for 2023. This year, sales of Chinese cars may reach 295.2 thousand units under the baseline scenario, 319.5 thousand units under the optimistic scenario and 269.6 thousand units under the pessimistic one. Last year, 122.1 thousand Chinese cars were sold in Russia, so even under the pessimistic scenario, sales of Chinese cars will grow by 121% this year. Under the baseline scenario, they will increase by 142%, and under the optimistic one – by 162%. In 2023, a total of 742.2 thousand new cars can be sold in Russia under the baseline scenario (+13.4% on last year), 814.3 thousand units under the optimistic scenario (+24.4%), and 681.4 thousand units under the pessimistic one (+ 4.1%).
