Almost 38% of Chinese trucks sold were produced in partnership with Russian superstructure manufacturers

The marketing agency NAPI analyzed sales of new trucks* of Chinese brands in 2026.

Over 5 months, 7.4 thousand Chinese trucks were sold, which was a 34.9% decline on the similar period of 2025. Sales of trucks fully manufactured in China totaled 4.6 thousand units (-41.3% on the last year). Sales of trucks produced in partnership with Russian superstructure manufacturers amounted to 2.8 thousand units (-20.4% on the last year).

In January-May 2026, trucks manufactured in China accounted for 62.5%, while those manufactured in Russia - for 37.5%. The share of Chinese trucks produced in partnership with Russian superstructure manufacturers grew by 6.9 p.p. over the year.
Segments with the largest share of vehicles produced in partnership with Russian superstructure manufacturers include utility vehicles (100%), dropside vehicles or curtainsiders (96.5%), and vans (93.9%). The Chinese production share is higher in segments of dumpers (95.7%), tractor units (93.8%), construction (91.5%) and lifting (70.9%) vehicles. The share of Chinese vans (+34.7 p.p.), tractor units (+2.7 p.p.), and utility vehicles (+0.4 p.p.) produced in partnership with Russian superstructure manufacturers increased over the year.
